Privacy notice

Updated 30 October 2026. Controller for platform account administration: Charlotte Marshall trading as The Farrier’s Diary, United Kingdom. Contact thefarriersdiary@gmail.com.

This notice covers the platform’s account, security, support and billing administration. For customer and appointment records, your farrier is the controller and we provide the service under our data-processing terms.

Who handles your information

The platform handles account, support and subscription administration. Each farrier business is responsible for its own customer and horse records and for explaining its use of those records to customers.

Information used

The service holds account emails, authentication information, business details, customer contact details and postcodes, horse details and cycles, booking requests, appointments and notes. Only enter information needed for farriery work; avoid unnecessary sensitive personal information.

Information is used to provide accounts, private workspaces, booking and diary tools, support and security. Account administration is necessary to perform our agreement with you. We use legitimate interests to protect the service and handle enquiries, and comply with applicable legal accounting and disclosure obligations. Each farrier must identify and explain the lawful basis for their own customer processing.

Access and suppliers

Business records are available to authorised members of that business. Creating an account does not grant access to another business. Public booking forms do not provide customer lists.

Supabase provides database and authentication services; Vercel hosts the website. Stripe handles payment details when billing is enabled. The platform stores payment references, subscription status and dates, rather than full card details. Stripe may also act as an independent controller for payment processing and fraud prevention. Resend delivers authentication emails; support email uses Gmail.

Suppliers may process information outside the UK. We use supplier contractual safeguards and applicable adequacy arrangements for restricted transfers. Contact support for current supplier locations and transfer information.

Storage and security

The browser keeps sign-in sessions for the tab. The installable app caches a generic offline page and icons, rather than private records. Booking protection uses hashed connection identifiers; hosting and authentication suppliers also keep operational logs.

Records remain in an active workspace and may remain readable after subscription expiry. Cancellation does not automatically delete records. Contact support to discuss export or deletion. Workspace records are retained while the account remains open, including read-only access. We handle active-system deletion within 30 days of a verified owner closure request, except information we must retain for a legal obligation or claim. Financial records are retained for the applicable statutory accounting period. Protected supplier backups expire under their normal retention schedules and are not used for ordinary access. Booking attempt records are limited to a rolling day per business; suppliers retain operational logs under their service settings.

Your choices and rights

Providing account details is needed to offer the service; without them we cannot create an account. We do not sell your records or use advertising trackers on the diary pages. Contact the farrier business about its customer records, or platform support about your account. Depending on the circumstances, you can request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection or a portable copy. You can also raise a concern with the Information Commissioner’s Office.

Booking suggestions use availability and service information. A farrier reviews requests before confirmation.
